Ambassador: US not to soften sanctions against Russia over Crimea

MOSCOW, Feb 1 (PRIME) -- The U.S. and its allies will not soften sanctions against Russia over Crimea and the self-proclaimed Donetsk and Luhansk republics, Ambassador John Sullivan told channel TV Rain on January 30.

"We have been putting effort to solve this issue for seven years and we will continue working on it seriously. We will not ease the sanctions, anyway neither the U.S., nor partners and allies plan to ease the sanctions introduced after these events. There is nowhere to go, we started our conversation from this and we will continue," Sullivan said.

The official added that France and Germany are also committed to a "fair for Ukraine" solution of the issue.
